Meaning Love Syria in Italian, AMATA SIRIA features local musicians performing in the western classical tradition in harmony with the eastern kamancheh
The protagonists of the following movement “home is where your heart is” from AMATA SIRIA performance are Syrian children that are refugees in neighboring countries. Each of them has a documented story and wants to tell it. Their language may be simple for the ears but not for the heart. Composing music that faithfully describes their feelings was not easy for me, perhaps it will never be, and so in each stage of AMATA SIRIA I ask my colleagues, musicians from various cultures, for help. The thing that always amazes me is the amount of feelings that this colleagues pour through their instruments. With pleasure, I would like to share with you an example. يَحوي الفيديو التالي لَوحة بعنوان “بَيتٌ في القَلب” مِن عرض “الحبيبة سورية” أبطالها مَجموعةَ أطفالٍ سوريّين لَجَؤوا إلى دولِ جوار عدّة، لِكُلّ طِفلٍ مِنهم قِصّة موثّقة؛ هُم أنفسهم يَروون قِصَصهم بِلُغَةِ عيونِهِم المفهومة؛ يَقولونَ ما يَسهلُ “سَماعه” أذُناً ويَشُقّ على القَلبِ وَقعاً… لم يكن تأليف ما يليق بمشاعرهم مهمّة سهلة بالنسبة لي، لذا في كل عرض خلال هذه اللوحة أرجو زملائي الموسيقيّين من مختلف الثقافات مشاركتي المهمّة تاركاً لهم حرّيّة التعبير. وأكثر ما يفاجئني هو فيض مشاعرهم التي يعبّرون عنها عبر آلاتهم المنفردة. بامتنان أودّ الاستماع معكم على هذه العيّنة. I protagonisti del seguente movimento “casa nel cuore” dalla performance AMATA SIRIA sono bambini siriani rifugiati nei Paesi limitrofi. Ognuno di essi ha una storia documentata e vuole raccontarla. Il loro linguaggio potrebbe risultare semplice per le orecchie ma non per il cuore. Comporre musica che descriva fedelmente i loro sentimenti non è stato facile per me, forse non lo sarà mai, perciò in ogni tappa della performance chiedo aiuto ai miei colleghi musicisti di varie culture. La cosa che mi stupisce sempre è la quantità di sentimenti che versano i colleghi attraverso i loro strumenti. Con piacere vorrei condividere un esempio.
