Join us for a moving chamber concert that translates the stories of Syria’s war survivors into symphonic form. Meaning Love Syria in Italian, AMATA SIRIA features local musicians performing in the western classical tradition in harmony with the eastern kamancheh.

This symphonic work was created exclusively for the Museum by Syrian-Italian composer and conductor Nahel Al Halabi, who will also be in residence at the Museum for several days in the leadup to the show to add site-specific details that shine a light on these haunting and inspiring stories of resilience.

This performance is part of Aga khan Museum 2019/20 season, Listening to Each Other, which pays tribute to the role of the performing arts in preserving culture, spurring social change, and celebrating diversity
